Enabling ‘business support organisations’
Does your organisation provide information to companies on (international) responsible business conduct (IRBC)? Does your organisation demand, encourage or support companies implementing it? If so, then you play a crucial role in highlighting the importance of meaningful stakeholder dialogue to companies. The SER can support you in these efforts.
The SER has developed several information packages. These contain information on how companies can engage meaningfully with their stakeholders and how your organisation can support them in this process.
Relevance
Meaningful stakeholder engagement is part of the international guidelines and legislation on (I)RBC. This means that stakeholder engagement is not optional, but explicitly expected and mandatory. The guidelines require companies to consult stakeholders in different ways, including dialogue. Companies subject to legislation are obligated to fulfil this requirement.
